Story
Hi everyone,
Ross and I have decided to test our legs and Lycra on 5th May this year by tackling the "Tour de Manc - Mad Manc", a 205km bike ride around Manchester. https://www.tourdemanc.co.uk/event/mad-manc/
205km would be a tall enough test for us on its own, but the route also includes 3,100m of climbing. This will be particularly challenging given our usual stomping ground is around the flatlands of Cheshire, with the biggest hills being the bridges over the M56.
As an added motivation to ensure we get around within the time cut (which should also be difficult given we usually spend as much time in the cafe as on our bikes) we've decided to try to raise some money for charity.
We've chosen Bowel Cancer UK, a charity that's close to my heart as I lost my mum to the disease in 2008.
They're the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity, funding targeted research, providing expert information and support to patients and their families, educating the public and professionals about the disease, and campaigning for early diagnosis and access to the best treatment and care.
Their mission is to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
Any donation no matter how small will make a real difference and we're massively grateful to anyone who can find a few pounds to support.
Cheers,
Dan and Ross
