I’m raising money for Sport in Mind by taking on a 24-hour race this June, where I’m hoping to complete over 100km (104km because its 8km laps).
I've been running for 10 years, but I'm the last couple of years I've used running to help with my mental health, as I struggled with covid, job loss and weight gain. For me, getting out for a run, on my own or with others gave me structure, support, and a sense of connection that made a genuine difference to my wellbeing. It helped me rebuild both my confidence and resilience.
Now, I want to give something back by supporting others who may be struggling, so they too can experience the positive impact that sport can have on mental health. Any donation, big or small, will help make these opportunities accessible to more people who need them.
