Story
On 9 May 2027, I am tackling the ultimate physical challenge: running 26.2 miles. But every step I take isn’t just about a personal milestone—it’s about supporting a lifeline right here in our community.
I am raising vital funds in aid of Beeston Community Resource, the incredible charity that operates Beeston's Middle Street Resource Centre. For over 50 years, this unassuming building has served as a safe haven for local people navigating mental ill-health, loneliness, and social disadvantage. When I was struggling with my mental health, and was at rock-bottom, the team and groups really helped me to get my life back on track
Through their transformative Mindset Programme, therapeutic art and gardening sessions, and their vibrant, open-to-all community café, they give people a sense of belonging when they need it most.
A marathon requires months of endurance, but that is nothing compared to the daily hurdles faced by those struggling with their mental health. The money you donate will keep the café doors open, fund free community health talks, and support the volunteers who make Middle Street a place of joy and healing.
Where your money goes:
• £10 pays for refreshments at a peer-support session.
• £25 helps fund therapeutic music or craft supplies.
• £50 contributes to keeping this vital space fully accessible, heated, and open.
Please sponsor my run. Let’s make sure no one in Nottingham has to run their hardest race alone. Thank you!
