Story
In July, I’m taking on the Gower Peninsula 50km Ultra Marathon — my first ever ultra and by far the toughest challenge I’ve ever attempted. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not built for long-distance running, and having only ever run 13 miles before, this will definitely push me to my limits.
I’m running to raise money for The Jacob Crane Foundation, a local charity that raises awareness of childhood cancers. The foundation supports children and young adults — and their families — as they face the challenges of cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
The charity was founded in memory of Jacob Crane, who sadly lost his life to AML, a rare form of leukaemia, at just 18 years old.
I know this challenge will be incredibly tough, but it’s nothing compared to what families go through when they hear the words no parent ever wants to hear. And being a father of 2 myself, I’m simply grateful to be in a position to be able to do something that can hopefully make even a small bit of difference.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world and will help the foundation continue its amazing work supporting families who need it most.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly won't go unnoticed ❤️
