Dani's fundraiser for Aspire 2026

Dani Cameron is raising money for Aspire

Sealand Swim Challenge 2026

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

UPDATE

I DID IT.

On 7/8/2026 after 4 hours 26 mins & 59 Seconds I got to Sealand

Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far it’s very much appreciated

Where is Dani Swimming Now…?

In 2016 I returned to swimming after a 27 year 'rest'. I came back hard & have gone to do the following, achieving the my English Channel solo 12 days before my 51st birthday

English Channel Relay August 2020

Length of Ullswater June 2021

Jersey to France September 2022

Length of Coniston June 2023

English Channel Solo Sept 2023

Length of Windermere June 2024

Length of Loch Ness Aug 2024

North Channel Relay June 2025

My latest challenge is a swim to the Principality of Sealand – the world’s most famous micronation, located several miles off the Suffolk coast. It’s another opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, most importantly, raise funds for Aspire.

A Little About Me

I’m not a professional athlete I’m a mum, a publican & really quite ordinary but love to have a go at things that some might say I can't achieve

Swimming has helped me raise over £13,000 for charity & has taught me lessons that extend far beyond the water. Above all, I swim to show my daughters that they can achieve anything they want in life if they’re willing to work for it & keep going when things get tough.

Aspire provides practical support to people living with spinal cord injuries, helping them regain independence and rebuild their lives. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help make a difference.

Thank you for supporting me on my latest adventure.

Dani

Now a bit of how you donating can help Aspire help those with spinal injuries:-

Every two hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury, and there is no cure.

All the money I raise will help Aspire provide practical help to everyone in the UK paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, supporting them from injury to independence.

Your donation makes a difference. A donation of £10 could fund a 30 minute call with an Aspire Welfare Benefits Advisor. £20 could fund an hour with Aspire's Housing Advice Team, and £30 could fund a 2 hour Assistive Technology session.
