Story
This year my running club has nominated BASICS Devon as the chairman's charity. This charity works closely with the South West Ambulance crew and is now responding to 30%+ more callouts due to the significant strain on our NHS.
So, I figured, what better way to raise some much needed funds for them by running a marathon-
The famous Giants Head Marathon on 17th June 2023 in Dorset. With 1000m+ in elevation, it's safe to say this famously 'long marathon' is going to quite a few hills on it! You can find out more information about the course following this link...

So who are BASICS?
BASICS Devon are volunteer medical first responders across rural communities who provide initial emergency medical care until an ambulance arrives at the scene. The charity receives no government funding and relies solely on public donations for much needed training and medical kit. 2023 is BASICS 30th year providing this much needed community service.
