Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having raised £9034 of my £9999 target for Bristol Bears Spectrum Project, Bristol Autism Support & Yeo Valley Lions, i was unaware that once a crowdfunding page expires, you can not reactivate it.

So i’ve started this follow on page in hope of reaching a target that i didn’t think possible when i began this mission.

I have completed 104K Ultra over 3 events in 57 days, then arranged 2 BMC Race Nights since to arrive at the current total.

Story

I am aiming to complete 3 challenges totalling an Ultra 100 for three charities, that are doing marvelous work within the Autistic community. My son Leo has Autism, he is non verbal and faces growing challenges that will continue to grow with him as he does. However, this challenge and desire to raise money and awareness for those making a difference, was inspired by a conversation with a father of a heavily autistically challenged young boy, who shared his and his partners incredibly tough pre diagnosis journey, at a SEND playground run by Yeo Valley Lions. Support for families challenged with Autism, is equally as important pre dianosis as it is post diagnosis, and can make the difference in the pathway ahead, and that's why Bristol Autism Support is one of my 3 charities giving invaluable help guidance and education to those presented with the unknown. We were very fortunate and blessed to have received such strong support from Leo’s nurseries☺️ Once as a parent you reach the point of diagnosis and acceptance with Autism, to have organisations like Bears Foundation Spectrum Project, and Lions making sport and play in the safe and warmest of enviroments enjoyable for your child, is like a gift from above😇 So i intend to accomplish something i have never even tried before, in order to give something to assist helping young Lions and Bears trying to find their Roar!🐯🐻 The only time i have ever ran or jogged is on the Rugby or Football field, but for the past few weeks i have been and will continue to train hard, whether it be Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge or Charterhouse, come rain or shine i'll be at it! As these challenges are Ultra for a reason.. it's no running track! The first will be 29K Lake district on the 8th June, then 25K Peak District 6th July, finishing with the big one, 50K Exmoor 3rd August, yes all 3 in 57 days!😅 I am aiming to raise £9999, which will be £3333 for the 3 charities (clearly i love a bit of numerology✨). Whilst i appreciate this is a very big sum of money, i'm setting the bar high in every aspect of this challenge, and with your help in support we can get there. Any donation will be greatly received and appreciated, and if you would kindly share this where possible, i'd be very grateful. I'm not a big one for social media, however i will try to update with training and events progress on here and Whatsapp status, as much as possible. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Much love, Dan💙
