Story
As a keen cyclist I’ve been looking at ways to challenge myself further, so have signed up for my first ever triathlon which happens to be the 70.3 Ironman in Swansea
1.2 mile swim, 50 mile bike ride and just over 13 mile ride.
I can cycle ok, just need to learnt to run and swim..
In doing this in memory of my Dad, he passed away 26th December 2024 after battling pancreatic cancer for just over 4 years.
Dad had so much support from Cheltenham Oncology so looking to give something back.
Within my close friend group and the cycling team we have seen people fight cancer again using the support from this hospital.
The work this charity is doing to build a centre of excellence means that we have local access to the best treatments.
I will be documenting my journey on my instagram page.
Please support this where you can.
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a designated Regional Cancer Centre and has provided specialist cancer care for people in our community for more than 60 years supporting hundreds of thousands of local people to receive the best care there is to offer. Many of the current facilities are over 25 years old and a new modern building is needed to care for future generations.
I am fundraising for The Big Space Cancer Appeal to help build a bigger, brighter home for cancer care.
