Story
Whom we are fundraising for:
The Never Alone Project (TNAP) is a registered Charity (number 1201585). It exists to:
- provide vital information and training programmes to educational professionals, enabling them to help and support grieving children that they are in contact with.
- support for grieving children and their families or carers in Northamptonshire (both online and face-to-face). TNAP uses the Grief Recovery Method https://www.griefrecoverymethod.com/
- provide Pre-Bereavement support and counselling for children and families facing a terminal illness in the family.
Furthermore, services are being expanded to encompass those professions that deal with grief including NHS staff and the emergency services.
Currently TNAPs funded remit is Northamptonshire, although there are ambitions to role out further in future in a critically unsupported sector.
Many dozens of families have already benefited and are benefitting from The Never Alone Project's services. It runs on a shoestring and is reliant on a lot of voluntary support.
Your donation will help fund TNAP in it's ongoing activities to support children and their families. Please give as much as you are able to and spread the word about TNAP.
What is / Who are 'Squad Goals'?
'Squad Goals' is the team I (Dan Brewster) have entered in this year's JLR Challenge. The team comprises myself as captain, Leonie Tantum, Paige Rowlandson, Robert Evans, Mithun Babu Thomas and Ilona Marwaha. We are a group of foolhardy hikers that are intending to score as many points by hiking and trying activities against other rival teams within Jaguar Land Rover, drawn from the workforce and from some of our key suppliers.
The JLR Challenge, running for the first time since Covid, is the longest running intra-company competition in the UK, with over 35 years of history.
I have taken part on four previous occasions, captaining 3 times, and finishing as high as 35th out of a field of 101 teams. The event usually encompasses at least 14 miles (22.5km) hiking, plus abseiling, high ropes, kayaking, problem solving and other physical and mental challenges.
