Story
I have been known to ride a bicycle. I am also now a volunteer member of the shore crew at Shoreham Harbour RNLI station and help launch and recover lifeboats.
The RNLI is a thoroughly good thing and as a 100% publically funded organisation it needs your help, support and let's be frank, your money.
This year is the 160th anniversary of there being a station in Shoreham. And for fans of the inshore weather forecast, it's about 160 miles between Selsey Bill near Chichester in Sussex and North Foreland near Margate in Kent.
So as the photo suggests, I've found a way to combine these with a bike and my plan this Sunday is to ride the coast between the two points, visiting the 13 other lifeboat stations inbetween.
So can I ask nicely and beg you to sponsor me on this ride, please? It'll take me at least two days and be the longest distance I've ever done.
Every little bit helps and will help me power along...
If you want me to play the pity card, I've also done virtually no training for it.
(Thanking, using their insta presence's, @mablemoon17 for the photos and @dansbikeservice for fixing up my RNLI coloured up bike and all the folk at RNLI Shoreham Harbour and beyond for helping me out on this one)
