Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page.
One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime. Additionally, every three minutes, somebody in the UK is told they have dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society is doing everything possible to find a cure, but they need our help. I would be forever grateful if you’d support me by donating on my page.
Backstory
Alzheimer’s resonates deeply with me due to the impact it has had on my family. My grandmother, a selfless and wonderful lady whom I loved deeply, battled with Alzheimer’s in her later years. I witnessed how the disease gradually eroded her vibrant personality and her dignity, both mentally and physically. This experience left a lasting fear within me, knowing how insidious and heart-wrenching dementia can be.
Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s has again touched our family and has also affected the families of two very close friends.
These events have motivated me to take action and contribute to this critical cause by taking on my next challenge to fundraise for Alzheimer's Society.

The Challenge
On the 7 September, along with 7 Friends, I will embark on cycling from Lands' End to John O'Groats (LEJOG). We'll be covering a distance of 980 miles over 9 days, which means we'll be cycling an average of 110 miles per day. Our journey will take us from one end of the UK to the other, passing through 27 counties, 3 countries, and 57,000 vertical feet of climbing.
Can you help?
By cycling from one end of the UK to the other my goal is to impact the fight against Alzheimer's. This journey is not just about covering miles, but about taking a stand for those affected by this condition. I believe by raising awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Society, we can make a real difference to the lives of those living with dementia, and their families.
Any donation you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to Alzheimer’s Society - it's the most efficient way to donate.
I would also appreciate it if you shared the link with anyone you feel may be interested in supporting this cause.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever and until a cure is found they will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
