Story
Hi, Dan here.
This September, I'll be cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End (1,200 miles) to raise much-needed funds for the West Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre; a small charity providing an extremely important service to people suffering from neurological conditions including, MS, strokes and autism - as well as people suffering from non-neurological conditions such as, cancer, fibromyalgia and physical injuries (TT riders, you know who you are) to name just a few.
The centre offers much needed support and a therapy that many feel is necessary to help deal with their condition on a day to day basis. However, being a small charity means we are even more vulnerable than most to events outside our control. Floods, fires and now the energy bills have done their best to bring us down. This is why sponsored events offer the opportunity to raise funds that might (and often have) made the difference between us closing permanently or continuing to help those that most need us.
I have been raising funds for the WYMSTC since I was four years-old. I have walked to exhaustion, crawled through mud deeper than I was tall, walked on fire and shaved my hair off (that proved to be slightly more permanent than expected). So naturally, I wanted more.
This ride will be my biggest challenge yet and I am extremely excited to take it on. Any and all support will be gratefully received. Thank you for your time and support.
