Brain Tumour Support is dedicated to providing support for patients, families and carers so that no one feels alone facing the effects of a brain tumour diagnosis. We provide individualised and specialist information, guidance and emotional support, at any point and for as long as it is needed.

Story

I may be mad but on 15th June I’m tackling The Wall 2024 - https://www.ratrace.com/the-wall, a 70 Mile Ultra Marathon from Carlisle to Gateshead along Hadrian’s Wall in memory of my Grandad, Paul Mason who passed away after suffering from a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Tumour.

Last year whilst on deployment with the RAF, I raised money for Brain Tumour Support and pledged to raise money in his memory, yearly. If I can raise any amount of money towards helping people in the same position which my Grandad found himself in then I’ll be happy.

After chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a debulking operation, he managed to walk a marathon in his garden during Covid lockdown with his beloved dog Charlie raising over £3,000 before he sadly passed away. For his efforts, he was included in the Covid Kindness book and even had a Radio Interview.

What my Grandad achieved towards the end of his life with his fundraiser was incredible. If I can help the charity which was so close to his heart in any form then I know he would be proud so that’s a great feeling but it’s still nothing in comparison to what he did.

Thank you!
