Story
In October 2024, my good friend, and fellow Taekwon-Do instructor, Nick Evans passed away after a suffering a stroke shortly after completing his 6th degree grading. Nick was one of the fittest and healthiest people around and his passing hit everyone who knew him really hard.
The 11th of June 2026 would have been his 50th birthday and, in memory of Nick, I have decided to take on the challenge of cycling from the Croyde Bay in North Devon to Royal Wootton Bassett (in a single day), two places that meant a lot to Nick. Croyde Bay has been the home of P.U.M.A.’s summer training camp since 2001, and Nick had helped run this for many years now. Royal Wootton Bassett was Nick’s home, and where he taught Taekwon-Do, making it a fitting place to finish. I am still in the process of finalising the exact route but it will be in the region of 140 miles including well over 2000m of climbing. Nick was a keen cyclist, and so this seems a fitting way to remember him and raise a significant amount of money for the Stroke Association Charity in the process.
This is going to be a pretty brutal challenge both physically and mentally. Any donations that you can make will be greatly appreciated and help keep me going both during training and on the day itself.
