On 5th September, I’ll be taking part in the Ultra Challenge 25km walk along the South Coast to raise money for Family Action, specifically PAC-UK.

As you will know, David and I have recently welcomed Leo into our family and behind that cheeky smile he has bought us more love and happiness than we could have imagined.

You will likely also know from my frequent chatter on the matter that the adoption process is a long and emotional one, as well as a steep learning curve. Throughout the journey we have been wonderfully supported by our adoption agency but have also taken huge value from the information, life stories and insights from PAC-UK.

PAC-UK provide specialist, trauma-informed support for all people affected by adoption, be they adopted people, birth families, foster families and adoptive families. We have been privileged to have an insight into the value of the work they do and to appreciate the value of their empathy and expertise. Knowing such a brilliant organisation exists and are able to support families like ours, and perhaps even ours in the future, is a massive comfort.
