Why I’m running the London Marathon for Kids Cancer Charity
In April, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon, raising money for Kids Cancer Charity.
Becoming a parent has completely changed my outlook on life. The everyday worries, responsibilities and emotions that come with raising children really open your eyes to how much parents carry on their shoulders, often without even realising it. It also makes you think deeply about families who are facing challenges far beyond the everyday, particularly those having to support a child through serious illness.
I was first introduced to Kids Cancer Charity through my dad, who has supported the charity for many years through his work at DHL. Seeing first-hand the impact the charity has on children and their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives really stayed with me, and this felt like the right opportunity to give something back.
Cancer affects so many of us in one way or another. Most people know someone who has been impacted, but seeing a child go through that journey is especially heartbreaking. Charities like Kids Cancer Charity provide vital support to families when they need it most, and the work they do makes a genuine difference.
I feel incredibly privileged to be running the London Marathon, and even more so to be doing it in support of such an important cause. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean a huge amount to me and will help support families who are going through an unimaginably tough time.
Thank you so much for your support.
