Daniel's fundraiser for Friends of Downs View School

Daniel Pickering is raising money for Friends of Downs View School

Brighton 10K 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

There is so much more that children with disabilities need. Communication software to specialist gym equipment, from outdoor play to indoor soft play areas. Our current priority is for a refurbishment of the soft play room at Downs View School, Woodingdean.

Story

On 12th April, I’ll be running the Brighton Marathon 10K to raise money for Friends of Downsview, the charity that supports Downsview School, where my son Alfie goes.

Downsview does an incredible job supporting children with additional needs, giving them a safe, positive environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive in ways that really matter to them. As a parent, seeing the care, patience, and dedication shown to Alfie every single day means more than I can put into words.

Friends of Downsview helps fund extra resources, activities, and experiences that go beyond what standard budgets allow — things that genuinely make a difference to the children’s day-to-day lives and their development.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything the school and staff do for Alfie, and this is my small way of giving something back, while also raising awareness of the amazing work they do.

Thank you so much for any support — every donation really does help and is hugely appreciated ❤️
