Daniel's London Marathon fundraiser for The PKD Charity

Daniel Reeves is raising money for The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Team PKD will be taking to the streets of London once again in 2025 to complete the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon.

Story

On April 27th 2025, I will be running The London Marathon!

I'm running to raise money for The PKD Charity, supporting individuals and families affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).

I was diagnosed with PKD in 2015, at the age of 33. This year we have received the news that our 10 year old Daughter also has the condition.

PKD is a genetic disorder, which causes fluid-filled cysts to grow in the kidneys, and over time impair their function. This can lead to a whole variety of serious health complications such as chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease.

All of this sounds incredibly scary, and unfortunately there is currently no cure for the condition. However, there have been some significant advances in medication over the last few years, which provides hope for the estimated 70,000 people in the U.K who have PKD.

This is why I am running the London Marathon. I feel very lucky and privileged to have this opportunity, and want to raise £2,000 for the PKD Charity. Without their support both my family and many others around the country would be in a much worse position while trying to understand and manage this condition.

Please consider making a donation in support of this brilliant Charity. Every penny contributes to further research, support for families, and helps raise awareness of this disease.

Thank You
