Story
Hi there everyone on unfortunately on the 12/06/23 I was involved in a severe road traffic accident, my car was hit front end by a 44 tonne lorry doing full speed.
I sustained multiple broken top ribs both sides, both lungs punctured, broken thigh bone and multiple other injuries. I was airlifted to Middlesborough James Cook hospital and was receiving intensive care in the general critical care unit where I spent 5 weeks in a medically induced coma. I have been told that multiple doctors and nurses took care of me the best they could and it was touch and go at times for my life..
I would like to raise money for this ward and give back to this amazing unit, as without their knowledge and expertise I might not be here today. They were nothing but amazing in every way and went above and beyond for me and my family. Cara tells me every single member of staff did everything they could to help, finding her accommodation in the hospital, having a little party for Malina in the ward and so many other wonderful things in a terrible situation. Hopefully raising this money could help another patient and families in a similar situation to us.
I am feeling so lucky and grateful to be here and I will make a full recovery in time, when I am fit and recovered I will do a trek for this fundraiser.
Thanks for any support, you really never think this can happen to you and in a blink of an eye, it can all be taken away. Very grateful to be here today. I am thankful to everyone that helped me be here, so now I can carry on enjoying the rest of my life with family and friends.
