We're raising money for Mind via "The Longest Middle-Earth Tournament".

How long, you ask? Well, about 45 miles, give or take!

Starting at the crack of dawn on Saturday 4th October, four intrepid Hobbits along with a Golden Retriever will be playing round 1 of our thematic tournament at our home base - Element Games in Stockport.

We will then pack up our models and dice, and begin the 2-day hike, playing as many games along the way as time allows, until we reach our destination - Element Games in Sheffield, for the final round of the event!

We will be carrying everything needed alongside our elven cloaks, lembas bread, overnight camping kit - and, of course, our pots and pans needed to cook our tomatoes, sausages and nice, crispy bacon (or as crispy as we can get it using a tiny stove on top of the Kinder plateau) - and we'll be sure to 'get off off the road'!

Why we doing this? Coming out of the pandemic, tabletop gaming has been a fantastic community building activity. This fundraiser is a way to celebrate the community that has sprung up around a shared passion and hobby.

Raising for Mind seemed the obvious choice - tabletop gaming is an inclusive, welcoming hobby and can really help to build bridges and support networks between people who may be struggling and don't find it easy to open up to others.
