Dr Daniel Rajan has run a staggering 155 marathons to raise thousands for many causes. After visiting Burundi, he's running the famous Boston Marathon in aid of sports outreach which brings healing to hurting communities.
Following Burundi’s brutal civil war GLO, along with former Olympian Charles Nkazamyampi, has tirelessly worked to bridge the gap between impoverished children and their access to education.
While in Burundi, Daniel did a local run with athletes, and felt excited to see how a simple 5k run could bridge the chasm between warring communities, thus allowing people from different tribes to unite in fun.
Daniel is covering all his expenses - your full donation will go to GLO and the youth in Barundi.
Over the course of 153 marathons, the orthopaedic surgeon has raised £60,000 for national and international charities including Prostate Cancer UK after he lost his father to the disease.
His completed marathons include the Leh Ladakh run which, set in the Himalayas, is recognised as the highest run on the globe.
He has also defeated the Galilee Marathon, which is recognised as the lowest race below sea level, and the Tromso Marathon, wich is slightly above the freezing temperatures of the Arctic Circle.
