Story
Starting 22nd July I will be walking solo 110 miles from Birmingham children’s hospital to Aberystwyth castle camping along the way to raise money for the hospital charity on honour of my daughter Dallas who was diagnosed with SVT at nine months old.
On the 21st December 2021 we called an ambulance to Dallas thinking she was choking but on further investigation the ambulance crew told us that Dallas’ heart rate was abnormally high. After struggling to get her heart rate down and it reaching 230bpm Dallas had to have heart stopped and restarted whilst in my wife’s arms. We all spent then next day ,which was Christmas Eve, having tests done on Dallas to see what was going on. A doctor very kindly came in on his day off to explain that Dallas had supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) he explained the road ahead and the tests and treatment Dallas would need and then thankfully discharged Dallas so we could spend Christmas at home as a family.
From then on Dallas was looked after by Dr Harris and the team at the heart outpatients at BCH who have always been the kindest and friendliest people we could ask for and Dallas always looked forward to her appointments at the hospital. The hospital and all the staff do an amazing job and the charity provide vital services and equipment for the patients, parents and staff at the hospital. All money goes straight to providing these things and any amount of money is greatly appreciated. Walking 110 miles is no challenge compared to what the children and parents have to go through at the hospital and I hope I can, with everyone’s help, raise enough money to help bring abit of happiness to poorly children's lives
Thank you so much for any support
