As we live ever longer Alzheimer's and Dementia are becoming more and more common. From my own experience, it can be difficult to see those you love go through this. They're suddenly not the same. My grandma was a stubborn women who was really cross at having lived so long. I was fortunate enough to see a few glimmers for who she was, "I know I'm losing my marbles but is it at least funny?". My grandpa on the other hand gave me music, encouraged me to pursue my passion in this area, even semi-forced further violin lessons upon be, despite being in my teens and way to cool for that. Even so some people aren't as lucky as I was with my experiences and that's why the work done by Alzheimer's Society, and many others, is so important.
