Robin Hood Half Marathon 2025 · 28 September 2025 ·

Join Team Footprints on Sunday 28th September to take on the Robin Hood Half and Mini Marathon, fundraising to put smiles on children's faces and to empower children with communication and mobility difficulties to achieve their full potential.

Story

After spending a month working with Footprints as part of the Nottingham Consultancy Challenge at the UoN, I went from never having heard of them to discovering just how amazing the charity is. The team at Footprints are passionate, kind, and go above and beyond to support every child and family they work with.

By the end of the four-week challenge I had gained a deep respect and understanding of the work footprints do. I wanted to continue supporting them in any way I could (as a broke uni student), which is why I have chosen to take on this half marathon. I hope that it can help raise awareness of the great things they do but also help out all the families and children who Footprints support.

Here is a little bit about the work they do and the difference they make:

Footprints is a small Nottingham based charity, that empowers children living with communication and mobility difficulties to learn life skills and to achieve their full potential. At the same time, they give families the knowledge, confidence and strength to cope with the disabilities their child lives with and understand how they can help.

One of their families described their work as ”making the impossible possible, in a world of people telling children what they can’t do, the team encourage children to do everything.”
