Story
Daniel York, a Partner in our Commercial Property team based in Wokingham, is taking on an incredible challenge to raise vital funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice - and he needs your support!
On 10th September, Daniel will set off on the Pedal to Paris, a demanding four-day cycling journey spanning approximately 333 kilometres from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham to Paris! Along the way, he and his fellow cyclists will tackle a challenging 8,200 feet of climbing, pushing themselves physically and mentally to complete this epic ride.
Daniel is riding to support Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, which provides compassionate care for individuals facing serious illness and their families. The hospice relies on generous donations to continue offering its essential services, making fundraisers like this crucial to its mission. Phyllis Tuckwell is our Farnham office charity.
Our goal is to raise £1,800 in support of Daniel’s challenge and the incredible work Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice does every day. Every donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones.
Message from Daniel -
I am very pleased to be able to support Phyllis Tuckwell and join them on this amazing adventure in support of their hospice. Phyllis Tuckwell are reliant on fundraisers to support their essential services. I am really looking forward to the ride in September to do my bit and even the training along the way.
Those of you who have known me for a long time will have seen me undertake these type of long distance rides before. There has been a previous ride across France and even a trip down to Cornwall. The Cornwall trip has a particular fondness for me and in a rose tinted moment of nostalgia I have been encouraged to repeat the particular nonsense of that ride again.
The selling feature of my last ride was straightforward for you, the kind donator, but not so for me. Every person who donates to the ride can suggest an item of fancy dress that they would like for me to wear during my training. I will then seek to complete as many training rides in as many different items of Fancy Dress as I can.
Some rules do apply – rudeness (mankini’s), impracticality (suits or armour) are out. Otherwise…….I look forward to visiting the fancy dress shop a lot in the coming months.
Many thanks
