Story

This page has been set up in memory of Daniella Thackray, who we sadly lost to Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) at just 25 years old.

Whilst Cholangiocarcinoma is considered rare, worldwide it is the second most common primary liver cancer. Unfortunately it is difficult to diagnose accurately and early, so by the time of diagnosis it is often too advanced for surgery – which is currently the only potential cure.

Daniella’s last message sums up the importance of raising awareness of Cholangiocarcinoma better than we ever could. If you haven’t yet seen it, it’s available here:

Although Cholangiocarcinoma sadly took Daniella away from us in the prime of her life, she dreamt that one day there would be a cure for this rare and aggressive disease that could help others. Please help us raise some money in her memory for AMMF, the only registered bile duct cancer charity in the UK, so that more life saving research can be done and hopefully one day soon there will be a cure.
