Story
Jill Fairweather, one of the most inspiring humans that I have encountered. A good friend for many years. She helped co-found the Aspergillosis Trust, a vital charity for raising awareness for the rare condition. Advocating and supporting patients.
Jill has been a chief supporter and GPS "dot watcher" on all my challenges to date. A truly inspirational individual that has offered great perspective and support over many decades. Always remotely helping the during the tougher bits. We have spent most of the last year putting our heads together for the Wainwrights challenge 2024 and laughing at the bivvy sleeping arrangements. 214 fells, 110,000ft elevation and 325 miles, self supported.
It is incredibly challenging to openly write that she has moved into the light in recent weeks. I had promised her I would run for her charity. It seems unreal that I will hit the start line without her in the background of the remote support crew. Even though the circumstance of things has massively changed, it seems important to finish what we started together. Being as things are, I cannot commit to the FKT but will get to the start line and work through the miles the best one can. One last labour of love to mark one of the shiniest bubbly ladies to grace our lives.
Sending love and light to all the people her life touched, especially friends and family. Her charitable good work will continue to impact many more. A true force of transformation through great adversity and extreme health challenges <3 <3 One last charitable endeavour for her.
Thank you for taking time to read this.
Love and light, always!
