I have served on the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Camping & Outdoor Leadership Advisory Board for over a decade. I volunteer to support these programs because I believe in the transformative power of disconnecting from technology, spending time in nature, and challenging oneself through new experiences. I can personally attest to the value of Y camp, having attended Camp Colman & Camp Orkila as a camper, and having sent Jack & Joe to Camp Colman for many summers.

I am proud of the Y's work to ensure our programs are welcoming to everyone, especially those who are new to traditional summer camp experiences. Check out this video to learn about an impactful experience from last summer:

This spring we are raising funds to ensure that every young person can experience the outdoors in a meaningful way - whether that is a week at Camp Colman or Camp Orkila, one of week-long outdoor leadership expeditions, a family-camp weekend, or an outdoor education program.

My goal is to raise $1,600 to send one young person to a week-long camp or outdoor leadership program.
