My First HYROX — Manchester 2027 ❤️
Solo. For my boys. For me. For Soul Sisters.
In January 2027, I’ll be standing on the start line of my first ever HYROX in Manchester.
And I’m doing it SOLO.
This is so much more than a fitness challenge for me.
I started training just two months after giving birth to my youngest son, Elden. I managed around four months of training before life took over and I ended up having six months away from it completely.
Now I’m starting again, with Elden beside me for every session and every run, safely in his running pram.
And there’s one fairly major problem…
I AM NOT A RUNNER. 😂
I’ve never been a runner. Ever. So naturally I’ve signed myself up for HYROX, where running is a massive part of the event. 😆
But Elden being beside me means more than simply juggling training with a baby.
He was part of this journey before he was even born.
I carried him through one of the hardest periods of my life. He was with me through the survival, and now he gets to be beside me through the rebuilding. ❤️
I left an abusive relationship in January 2025 believing that leaving would be the end of it. I thought the police, professionals and systems around me would simply know how to help.
I learned that it isn’t always that simple.
I didn’t truly understand coercive and controlling behaviour until very recently, long after I’d physically left. When I finally understood it, so much of what I’d experienced suddenly made sense.
If I’ve learned anything, it’s how important it is to get specialist domestic-abuse support when leaving. Get advice, understand what is happening and make a safe plan. I didn’t know how important that was.
I wish I had known then what I know now.
That’s why I’m raising £1,000 for Soul Sisters, an incredible local domestic-abuse charity that has helped me personally. The more we raise, the more women and children they can support.
And HYROX has another meaning for me.
I was once told by my perpetrator that he wouldn’t do a HYROX doubles with me because I couldn’t do it.
I was called a “fat bitch.”
So…
Guess what, you little turd. 😂
I’m doing it.
And I’m doing the whole bloody thing SOLO.
I genuinely don’t think I’d be doing this without SKPT Gym, either.
Laura at SKPT has been incredible. She’s seen me in tears more times than I can count. She’s hugged me, listened, pushed me and repeatedly told me:
“You can do this.”
Sometimes I didn’t believe her.
Slowly, I’m starting to.
So Laura, and Kingsley, thank you. And SKPT — thank you for giving me somewhere to start finding my strength again.
Most importantly, I’m doing this for my boys.
I want them to see their mummy strong, not because she never struggled or fell apart, but because she got knocked down and decided to get back up.
And now I need your help.
My target is £1,000 for Soul Sisters. Every £1, £5 or £10 means more support for women and children who need it.
And selfishly…
The more you lot donate, the more pressure you’re putting on me to finish the bloody thing. 😂💪🏼
Once you’ve sponsored me, there is NO backing out.
And while finishing my first solo HYROX is the goal, there may be one other teeny, tiny target…
I want to beat that fucker’s solo time too. 😆💪🏼
Petty? Maybe.
Motivating? ABSOLUTELY.
So please donate, share my page and help me turn something incredibly painful into something positive.
When I cross that finish line, it won’t just mean I completed a HYROX.
You told me I couldn’t.
For a while, I believed you.
Now watch me.
For Soul Sisters.
For my boys.
For me. ❤️
The HYROX might be solo — but the journey to that start line won’t be.
£1,000. LET’S BLOODY DO THIS. 💪🏼❤️
