Story
I love a challenge, especially the kind that makes most people look at me and ask, 'Are you mad?'
So I signed up for a relay Channel swim taking place on the 29th July. Yes… The freezing, wide-open, jellyfish-filled stretch of water between Dover and France. As a team of 6, we’ll be swimming in one-hour shifts, hopping in and out of the boat for anywhere between 12 and 18 hours until we (hopefully) reach France in one piece. Imagine trying to warm up on a rocking boat, only to be told, 'Off you go again!' Madness, but all for a brilliant cause.
Why am I doing this?
Because if you’re going to take on something wild, it might as well make a real difference. I’m swimming to raise money for Aspire, an incredible charity supporting people who have been paralysed by spinal cord injury. Aspire helps individuals regain independence, providing specialist housing, accessible technology, practical guidance, and vital support during life-changing moments. Their work genuinely transforms lives, and every donation, big or small, helps them reach more people who need it.
So while I freeze, flap, and fight the Channel currents, you can help by supporting Aspire’s life-changing work. Thank you and please wish me luck… or at least a strong tailwind toward France.
