Jurassic Coast Challenge 2025 · 17 May 2025 to 18 May 2025 ·

Sarcoidosis is a rare disease and has poor information, support and little research for finding a cure. We work to change that. Our 4 goals; information, support, awareness and research. We receive no government money and are reliant on your generosity. Every donation makes a huge difference.

Story

We have decided to take on a challenge to help raise awareness of sarcoidosis and to raise vital funds for Sarcoidosis UK. On 17th May we will be taking on the Jurassic Coast Challenge by walking 25k starting at Corfe Castle! In summer of 2023, our wonderful dad suddenly fell very poorly. It wasn’t until the end of 2023 when he was eventually diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease in which the immune system overreacts, causing groups of cells to form clusters of inflamed tissue called "granulomas" in one or more organs of the body. A disease which, so far has no cure, and very little understanding behind what causes it. It’s also one that very few people have ever heard of and often an invisible disease, so there is little support available due to lack of awareness and understanding. As a family, there’s very little we have been able to do to help dad during his journey so far except support him and gain as much knowledge and understanding of this horrible disease as we possibly can. We are walking for dad, for other sarcoidosis sufferers, we want to play a small part in hopefully raising awareness and raise some funds for the wonderful charity that are working so hard to find out more about the disease whilst supporting those suffering with it. We hope you will sponsor us if you are able! Thank you! 💗
