10,000 steps/day for a month

The Drop in exists because of the particularly difficult conditions asylum seekers encounter in the UK after fleeing persecution in their home countries. They are not allowed to work while their claims are processed, even though many have skills that would benefit our society and economy.

Story

For my Batmitzvah fundraising project, I have made it my goal to walk 300,000 steps in the month leading up to my Batmitzvah, with a daily target of 10,000 steps.

I have decided to raise money for the NNLS Destitute Asylum Seekers Drop in because I want to help people who have had to leave their homes in search of a better life here. At the monthly drop-in, people are offered a warm and welcoming space, with home cooked food, and the opportunity to receive medical care.

I love London and I hope that my fundraising helps asylum seekers to feel welcome and looked after in my home city.

Thank you so much for your support!

Love,

Kadya
