Story

Hey, I’m Danielle!

I’m taking on a huge personal challenge by running the London Marathon in April 2025, and I would love your support as I raise funds for Phab. Together, I believe we can make a real difference. Your generosity won’t just help me through the tough training and the race itself—it will also make a lasting impact on the lives of those who benefit from Phab's incredible work.

Phab is all about promoting inclusion and integration for people with and without disabilities. Through their network of clubs and projects, they bring children, young people, and adults together to have fun, make friends, and build a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive, regardless of ability.

This is going to be one of the biggest challenges (and hopefully achievements!) of my life—aside from winning the mums’ race at my kids’ school for the past six years, of course! Those little victories count too, right?

If I’m honest, the nerves and imposter syndrome are kicking in. I’ve had an on-and-off relationship with running. As a kid, I thought I was pretty good, but my dad might say otherwise after I dragged him out of his sick bed to watch myself in a cross country race back in school, where I effectively nearly passed out over the sheer fright of the cows and just continuously stopped to wipe the mud off my legs. Not my finest hour perhaps. To this day he insists I cannot run! Well Dad I'll be proving you wrong in April Over the years, I’ve picked it up and put it down more times than I can count. Now, I’m looking forward to pushing through the tough parts of training and silencing that little voice of doubt when it creeps in.

The sheer scale of the marathon—the distance, the huge crowds, and the emotional weight of it all—feels overwhelming. I’m always moved to tears when I see others cross the finish line, knowing the personal battles they’ve overcome. It’s truly inspiring, and I’m honoured to be part of it this time.
