Running 9 Marathons in 61 Days for Ralph 💙

I’m taking on a huge challenge — running the equivalent of 9 marathons in just 61 days — to raise money for DEBRA, in honour of my beautiful nephew, Ralph. 💙

Ralph is living with Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB), a rare and incredibly painful genetic condition that causes the skin to blister and tear from even the slightest touch. EB can affect much more than the skin and everyday things that most of us take for granted like cuddles, winding and nappy changes can become painful and incredibly challenging.

Behind Ralph are his incredible parents, my sister in law Ciara and her finance Lewis, who face the daily challenges of EB while also navigating being first time parents. They have to pierce his blisters so they do not spread, manage wounds to prevent infection while spending hours changing his dressings. Despite all of this they show unbelievable strength, love and determination to such a wonderful little boy 💙 They are supported by DEBRA, who provide vital care, support and advocacy for families living with EB, while also funding pioneering research into treatments and, ultimately, cures.

I’m running these miles for Ralph — for every difficult day he has already faced, for his incredible parents and for the hope that one day children like Ralph won’t have to live with the pain and limitations of EB.

Every single penny really does count. 💙
