National 24 Three Peaks Challenge · 7 June 2025

Bear Force was established to reach children of all ages. It looks to create safe spaces & environments where children can talk and be heard. Its easily accessible platforms provide advice & support in a format that children can understand and raises awareness of the need for adults to listen.

Story

A group of personnel from Ascent Flight Training will be completing the three peak challenge raising money for Bear Force. This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and is not one for the faint hearted.

The Bear Force charity helps supports children’s mental health by providing simple tools that encourage them to talk about their worries from a very young age. It also helps parents, caregivers and adults working with children, to develop skills and strategies that can be applied to everyday situations that will help them successfully engage with children from the age of 3 years right through to adolescents.

The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three. From there the expedition will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft). The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.
