Why I’m Fundraising for CALM.
Having lost friends to suicide, and having experienced suicidal thoughts myself, I want to help give hope to anyone else who may be struggling. No one should feel alone, unheard, or without a way forward.
I first came across the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) while attending a London theatre production, The Choir of Man.
The Choir of Man is a powerful and uplifting show set in a traditional pub, celebrating friendship, community, and connection through music, humour, and honesty. Beneath the songs and laughter, it delivers an important message about opening up, checking in on each other, and the life-changing power of simply talking.
After seeing this show, I knew I wanted to raise money for this incredible charity.
CALM is a suicide prevention charity dedicated to standing against suicide. They provide vital tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for those who feel they have no way forward, those who have lost someone to suicide, or those worried about a friend or loved one.
Just £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
If you’re able to donate — no matter how small — you’ll be helping CALM continue their essential work and giving someone the chance to be heard when they need it most. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting such an important cause.
