Danny and Jill are taking on the Leeds Marathon—not just as a personal challenge, but as a commitment to something much bigger. Danny will be running the full marathon, while Jill will proudly complete the first three miles as part of the Leeds Well School Partnership (LWSP) team.

For Danny, this run is deeply personal:

“As the son of the LWSP Director, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible work they do for children across Leeds. Taking on my first marathon feels like the perfect way to support that—pushing myself physically and mentally, while helping to make a difference where it truly matters.”

For Jill, the cause is equally close to her heart. Having recently accompanied 90 girls from LWSP schools to London for the Mini Marathon—celebrating their journey through the M2 project, where mindfulness meets movement—she has witnessed the impact of these opportunities:

“I’ve seen how powerful and inspiring these experiences are for young people. Being part of the marathon means we can raise vital funds to continue creating those moments—opening doors, building confidence, and changing lives.”

The Leeds Well School Partnership is dedicated to supporting the health, wellbeing, and personal development of every child. This year, there is a particular focus on empowering girls and creating more inclusive opportunities for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
