Trek for Tomorrow 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

We’ll walk for those we’ve lost. We’ll walk to celebrate those who've survived. And we’ll walk to smash the stigma around suicide and get people talking. This isn’t a walk in the park - it’s a life-changing (and life-saving) trek.

Story

I’m incredibly proud to joining CALM for their first ever Trek For Tomorrow in the Peak District.

I'll be walking for those we’ve lost, to celebrate those who've survived, and to smash the stigma around suicide and get people talking. This isn’t a walk in the park - it’s a life-changing (and life-saving) trek that takes in highs, lows and everything in between.

Why CALM's work is so important to me

I recently opened up about my own struggles mentally in the jungle and I’ve been blown away with the kind messages and positive response I’ve had. Being one of CALM's official ambassadors, I hope I'll open the door and inspire other people to talk about it more.

The work CALM does makes a real difference and I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with their amazing team. They run a life-saving helpline for anyone affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts. It’s free, anonymous and open from 5 pm to midnight every day. Their website has loads of tools and info packed with practical, non-clinical advice to make talking and managing mental health easier.

The stats I’ve heard have shocked me. 1 in 5 of us will have suicidal thoughts. Every 90 minutes someone in the UK dies by suicide. And someone calls the CALM helpline every 59 seconds. That’s why it’s so crucial they’re here 365 days a year, helping people find ways to end their misery, not their lives.

CALM believe in a future in which nobody believes suicide is their only option. And crucially - they believe talking about suicide helps prevent it. Conversations have such power and I am talking from experience.
