Charity Football Match · 25 May 2024

Encephalitis International is the only non-profit of any size anywhere in the world providing direct support and information to people affected by encephalitis (brain inflammation); raising awareness of the condition; and driving research to improve diagnoses, treatments and outcomes.

Story

We are holding a charity football match in memory of our friend Danny who sadly passed away late last year. Those that were lucky enough to have known Danny will remember how kind and generous he was. What happened to Danny was a tragedy, we all miss him so much, but we know that he would want us to raise as much money as possible to help those affected by similar situations. We have organised this in Danny’s memory and are very grateful for all donations and attendance to the event.

Words from Encephalitis International:

Our mission is to increase global awareness of encephalitis, saving lives and building better futures.

Worldwide, a person is diagnosed with encephalitis (brain inflammation) every minute. Caused by infection or by autoimmune diseases, encephalitis strikes children and adults alike with no respect for gender or ethnicity. It is an acutely serious condition with high mortality rates, leaving many who survive with an acquired brain injury which will affect their memory, thinking and personality for the rest of their lives.
