This year, I’m taking on an extraordinary challenge for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart, and I’m hoping to make a real, life-changing impact.
I’m a C4/C3 tetraplegic, paralysed from the neck down following a life-changing motorcycle accident in 2019. In September 2026, I’ll be taking on the biggest challenge of my life - completing a Coast to Coast journey across Scotland using an off-road, chin-controlled wheelchair.
This won’t be easy. It will push me to my physical and mental limits. But I’m doing this for something far bigger than myself.
I want to raise funds to support other tetraplegics, people who are facing the same life-changing spinal injuries as me. I also want to show that life doesn’t end after a spinal injury. It changes, yes, but it can still be full, meaningful, and even extraordinary.

ABOUT REGAIN
Regain-The Charity For Tetraplegics is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting tetraplegics. We help people with tetraplegia regain their independence. Annually, approximately 1,200 people in the UK are paralysed, with 50% becoming tetraplegic due to accidents. Regain supports 40-60 new individuals every year, in addition to the 300+ tetraplegics we already assist. The lifetime cost of living with a severe spinal cord injury/tetraplegia is approximately £1.5–£4 million. That includes costs such as care, specialist equipment, medical needs, home adaptations and more. We provide grants a range of various services to support people living life to the full. Our Vision: A world where everyone living with tetraplegia can live freely and fully.

ABOUT TETRAPLEGIA:
It affects movement and/or sensation in all four limbs and can also affect other parts of the body. But every spinal cord injury is different, so no two people will experience tetraplegia in exactly the same way.
Some people may have some movement or sensation, while others may have very little. The level and severity of the injury will shape what day-to-day life looks like.
Complete and Incomplete Tetraplegia:
->Complete tetraplegia means that messages from the brain are no longer getting through the injured area of the spinal cord in the way needed for movement or sensation below the injury.
->Incomplete tetraplegia means that some messages are still able to travel through the injured area of the spinal cord. This means a person may keep some movement, sensation or function below the level of their injury.
Incomplete tetraplegia can look very different from person to person. Someone may have good movement in their arms but limited hand function, while another person may have some movement in their legs or be able to stand or walk with support.
