Story
This September, a team of five determined Danone cyclists – James Mayer, Nat Carnachan, Danny McCartney, Grace Cheetham and Aimee Ramaen – will take on an epic challenge: riding from London to Amsterdam over three days, from the 3rd to 5th September 2025, all in support of GroceryAid.
That’s right – more than 300 kilometres of pedalling, hills, sore legs, and saddle aches… but all for a fantastic cause that supports people across the grocery industry when they need it most.
Why We’re Riding
The grocery sector is the backbone of daily life – from the supermarket shelves to the supply chains behind them. Yet many of the people in this industry face hardship, crisis, and unexpected struggles. GroceryAid is there to support them – offering everything from mental health support and financial grants, to legal advice and counselling.
Every mile we ride, every blister and every climb, is in honour of those who keep our food chain running and need a helping hand. GroceryAid is a lifeline, and we want to help them reach even more people.
The Challenge Ahead
Make no mistake – this isn’t a gentle Sunday cycle. We’ll be covering over 300 kilometres across multiple countries, in just three days. It’s a serious physical and mental test – and one that will push us beyond our comfort zones. We’ve been training hard, but this ride is going to be a true endurance feat.
We’ll be:
- Climbing hills and powering through flatlands.
- Pacing ourselves through the unpredictable September weather.
- Relying on teamwork, encouragement, and a lot of grit to get to the finish line.
But we’re committed. Because the people GroceryAid supports are worth every drop of sweat.
