Dan's fundraiser for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity

Walking 37 Miles in 1 day visiting Derby and Burton Hospitals to raise money for the Cancer wards and to raise awareness of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
My name is Dan Aldridge, and in 2022 my Dad, David Aldridge, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects white blood cells called lymphocytes, these are an important part of your immune system.
Living in the Staffordshire Moorlands, we decided to seek treatment at Royal Derby Hospital.
The treatment received at Royal Derby hospital was INCREDIBLE!
In 2023, my Dad got to ring the bell on the Cancer ward at Royal Derby to celebrate being put into remission.
His story is only one of many.
On average 37 PEOPLE A DAY IN THE UK get diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
I aim to walk 37 MILES IN ONE DAY to raise awareness of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and to raise money for Derby & Burton Cancer Wards.
Starting from my Dad’s home village of Waterhouses, Staffordshire and walking to Royal Derby Hospital and finally onto Queens Hospital in Burton.
I will be taking on this challenge on a single day between the period of Monday 21st July – Friday 8th August 2025.
(A specific day will be given closer to the time to make the best choice based on weather predictions – the chosen day will then be updated on my Just Giving page)
