Story

Hello everyone, very small announcement to make….I’m running the London Marathon 2025!

I’m doing this for an amazing cause that is really close to home. As many of you know my Nan has been and still in a long battle with the evil beast, also known as cancer. She is absolutely smashing it and the beast is not winning, it hasn’t been easy but she is a miracle worker! She has battled through chemotherapy and radiotherapy and endless amounts of tablets, all with some really challenging side effects.

When I often speak to Nan she speaks wonders of her Mac nurse at the hospital who always has time for her and always greats her with a massive hug every time they see each other. The MacMillan help line is a great tool in the cancer support arsenal which Nan has called upon a couple of occasions and again she speaks wonders of how they help her.

Nan also is supported by her close friends. Her friend Irene Morris has always been there for her, helping her out on her down days and getting her through the best and worst days. Unfortunately the evil beast as struck on Irene also, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has already had one mastectomy and is due to have another.

So I will be running this for Nan and her friend Irene.

Watching the London Marathon this year and seeing people I know run it and who they are running for and their stories really inspired me to apply for the 2025 marathon. And with my nans story there was only one charity I could go for and I am over the moon they have accepted me.

Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.

Now the hard work begins. I am not a runner, no where near so this is going to be a massive task to complete however I am determined to do this for Nan who is battling so march harder than I am every single day.

I ask for one favour for those who can, please donate to this amazing cause, as small or as big as you can it will be very much appreciated💚

Love you Nan ❤️
