Story
In April 2022 i hiked up the Sugarloaf one of the highest peaks in the Black Mountains every day for 5 days to raise money for Children in Need.
It was a lot of fun doing my charity hike. Every day up the mountain the weather was different from sun to rain and wind to fog.
I was shortlisted by Children in Need for The Sir Terry Wogan Young Fundraiser of the Year Award after I raised over £1500. To my shock, I won! They gave me my trophy live on Blue Peter, then I went to the Children in Need show. Lewis Capaldi and Diversity performed. The next day I took my trophy into school to show my friends.
I loved experiencing the studio and seeing all of the technical stuff and the lights. They had a cute dog on Blue Peter too which loved being fussed. My evening on Children in Need was brilliant and I loved seeing all of the acts. At the end, they gave me a big Pudsey Bear teddy which I've got on my bed.
Blue Peter gave me 4 tickets as part of my prize, to Go Ape and I kept them and took a few of my friends with me on my birthday. I had an amazing time.
This year I hope to raise more money by doing a 12-month charity challenge. I'm going to do all sorts of things from abseiling the Clifton Gorge to canoeing the Wye, baking cakes for the old people at Christmas to camping in my tent for a month. I'm doing a different challenge every month. I am determined to give it my best shot!
