Story
A few weeks ago, my life changed in a way I never expected.
My name is Danyal Waqaas, and at just 15 years old, I found myself seriously unwell and admitted to Heartlands Hospital. I had never been in hospital before, and it was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. Being surrounded by machines, uncertainty, and seeing how serious things could be was overwhelming.
But in that difficult time, I witnessed something incredible.
The doctors, nurses, and staff in the Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU) were nothing short of amazing. They worked tirelessly day and night, showing care, compassion, and dedication not just to me, but to every patient around me. I saw first-hand how hard they fight to save lives and support families during their most difficult moments.
Thanks to Allah (SWT), and the incredible care I received, I have been given a second chance — a new life and a new perspective. This experience opened my eyes to how truly lucky we are to have such dedicated healthcare professionals and facilities.
Now, I want to give something back.
I am raising money for the ITU at Heartlands Hospital to help support the amazing work they do every single day. The funds raised will go towards improving patient care and providing vital equipment that can make a real difference for those who are critically ill.
Every penny donated, no matter how small, can help save lives and support patients in their most vulnerable moments. Your generosity could help someone else get the same second chance that I was given.
I will always be grateful to the staff who played such a huge role in my recovery. This is my way of saying thank you — and of helping others who are going through what I went through.
