Story

Hi everyone i am running the Half Marathon in october to raise money for the Mulberry Bush School in Standlake near Witney. The Mulberry bush School was founded in 1948 by my Great Grandparents Barbara and Stephen Dockar-Drysdale. Barbara was a British psychotherapist and set up the school for troubled children after the Second World War. The Mulberry Bush is a school for some of the most emotionally distressed and traumatised primary school aged children . These Children have experienced early trauma, neglect & abuse and have usually had numerous failed educational and home placements. I want to raise money for the school in memory of Barbara Dockar-Drysdale to honour her amazing work and the impact she has had on young children. Also in memory of my Gran and Gramps, Sally Cooper and Michael Cooper who also supported the Mulberry bush school during their lives.

My Gran particularly enjoyed helping record the early memories of Barbara and Stephen Dockar Drysdale starting the school and life at the school in the early years.

Any donations are hugely appreciated, every contribution no matter the size, makes a huge difference. It ensures the Mulberry Bush provides a homely environment at the school, with activities that encourage children to learn, play and build healthy relationships with adults and other children. Your Contribution helps provide subsidised training, products and services to people and organisations who can’t afford to pay.

By donating to The Mulberry Bush School your contribution can go towards therapeutic care, education and creating a safe and homely environment for the children.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity.
