Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to support a rehab centre so close to my heart. For those who don’t know my mum suddenly became very ill last year (literally over night). She lost her mobility, strength and was in severe pain. After 5 days of tests in Lister Hospital the doctor’s discovered it was a rare neurological condition called Guillain-Barré syndrome, where the immune system attacks the peripheral nerves causing paralysis.
Mum was prescribed a course of IVIG treatment which rebuilt her immune system and prevented her nerves from further attack. As I’m sure you can imagine, the treatment wasn’t a simple overnight fix. Luckily she was transferred to Danesbury Neurological Centre where she stayed for 5 weeks building back her strength and mobility. All the staff at Danesbury could not have been anymore supportive and my mum could not have done it without them.
In support of the continued hard work by the staff at Danesbury, I am participating in the Hertfordshire Half Marathon on November 2nd, 2025. My goal is to raise £500 for Danesbury, their incredible staff and facilities. Thank you for your generosity!
