Story
I am taking part in my first ever Triathlon to raise money in memory of my friend Toby, who sadly died unexpectedly in May this year. Toby and I started school together and had lots of fun times both in and out of school. I remember Toby always, as being happy and smiling and he made all of us at school feel happy. We really loved him coming along to support us at our sports matches! We all miss him!
I am hoping to raise as much as I can to support the great charity, ‘The Make Way Foundation’ which was launched by Toby and his parents in 2023.
Thank you all for any donation you are able to make x
The Make Way Foundation :
Why this matters
There is a huge underserved need in the UK
Funding for wheelchair services in the UK is highly restricted, with children trapped by their disability: unable to attend school or participate in life because they have no mobility equipment or because what they do have does not meet their needs.
We believe children should feel proud of themselves and who they are. They should have access to the equipment they need to participate in life, and it should make them feel good.
Kids who have ambitions to participate in para-sport should have the opportunity to do so, but sadly this is an area which receives very little funding at all.
At The Make Way Foundation, we want to do our bit to help.
