Story
I’ve been fortunate to work with many different charities and see for myself the real difference they make to people’s lives. That’s why, instead of accepting a gift when I leave the Society, I’ll be making a personal donation to a charity.
There’s absolutely no expectation for you to do the same, but if you can, and you’d like to, it would be great to support my donation to Young Carers.
Why Young Carers? Well, for me, it’s always struck a chord when I see children that don’t have the opportunity to just be a kid - to kick a football around or record a dance on their phone with their friends. Instead, these young people are cooking, cleaning, washing and more. Because of unimaginable personal circumstances, these children take on the adult roles in the family at the cost of their own childhood. When I hear about the lives of young carers it makes me realise how lucky I was as a child and how lucky my own kids are.
As I said, there’s absolutely no expectation, but if you’d like to join me, I know this donation will go a very long way in giving these young people some experiences that they will remember.
Cheers
