Story
As most of you know, I fell in love with swimming in 2019 and since then you’ll be sure to find me in the pool first thing in the morning 6 or 7 days a week!
I’m a big advocate for swimming and chances are unless you are already a swimmer and understand it’s many joys and benefits , I will have tried to encourage you to give it a go.
I only learnt how to swim front crawl in 2021 and since only being able to swim a couple lengths I have obsessively been trying to swim longer distances and at a faster pace. I am so excited to be taking part in the Dart 10k swim event on Sunday 8 September 2024.
The Dart 10k is the swimming equivalent of running a marathon. To put it into context it is the same distance of swimming 400 lengths in your local 25m pool. It is an open water swim which follows the river through Devon from Totnes to Greenway.
Despite it being a wetsuit event I have been successful in my application to swim just in my swim shorts which will add another layer to the challenge swimming in cold water.
Whilst doing this I am taking the opportunity to raise money for Level Water, a charity that provides 1:1 swimming lessons to children with disabilities, so they can have the opportunity to enjoy and love being in the water as much as I do.
Please support me in this epic challenge by donating. Any amount will be much appreciated and make a real impact on children’s lives. I strongly believe everyone should have the access and opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
100% of the donations will be going straight to Level water. I am self funding my ticket entry, travel and accommodation expenses associated with the event, please be assured your donations will not be going towards any of this.
Big big thanks and hope if you don’t already swim you might be inspired to start
